Suji (or Sooji) is quite a versatile food grain that is used in a number of dishes from Upma, Pasta & Idli to Pancakes & Cakes. As an alternative to Corn Meal, it can be used to flour the baking surface to prevent sticking. It contains healthy carbohydrates that boosts energy and the presence of calcuim boosts bone health. |Roasted Semolina / Rava / Sooji||1 cup|
|Yogurt / Curd / Dahi||1 cup|
|Eno Fruit Salt||1/2 tsp|
|#||Cooking Rava Idli | Step by Step|
|1||In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of roasted Semolina (Rava), to that add 1 cup of Curd, 1/2 tsp of Salt, mix well and allow it to soak for 30 Mins.|
|2||After 30 Mins add Water to the batter as required to get the Idli batter consistency.|
|3||Then add 1/2 tsp of Salt and Eno Fruit Salt to the batter and mix gently.|
|4||Grease the Idli plates with Oil and switch on the steamer with enough amount of Water.|
|5||Pour 1 tsp of Idli batter into each impression of the Idli pan.|
|6||Stack up the Idli plates and Steam for 12 Mins.|
|7||Then once done allow it to rest for another 3 min to cool down once taken out of the steamer.|
|8||Unmold the Idli plate and serve with Chutney.|
