Ingredients Quantity
Pigeon Dal / Toor / Tuvar ½ cup
Split Chickpeas / Chana Dal ¼ cup
Yellow Moong Dal ¼ cup
Water 2 cup (Dal : Water ratio 1:2)
Chopped Tomatoes ½ cup
Water 2 cup
Oil 8 tsp
Mustard Seeds / Rai ½ tsp
Cumin Seeds / Jeera ½ tsp
Chopped Green Chillies 2 tsp
Curry Leaves 2 tsp
Asafetida / Hing 1/3 tsp
Grated Ginger 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder / Haldi ½ tsp
Red Chilli Powder / Lal mirchi ¼ tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves for garnishing as required

# Cooking Rajasthani Dal Recipe | Step by Step
1 In a mixing bowl, take ½ cup of Toor Dal, ¼ cup of Chana Dal, ¼ cup of yellow Moong Dal and wash with Water for 2 to 3 times.
2 Then in pressure cooker add the washed Dal, 2 cups of Water and allow it to cook on medium flame for seven Whistles.
3 Once the Dal is cooked, allow it to cool down, add ½ cup of Water, whisk the Dal well and keep aside.
4 In a heating pan, add 8 tsp of Oil, ½ tsp of Mustard Seeds (Rai), ½ tsp of Cumin Seeds (Jeera), 2 tsp of chopped Green Chillies, few Curry leaves, 1/3 tsp of Hing, 1 tsp of grated Ginger, ½ cup of chopped Tomatoes and sauté for a minute.
5 Then add ½ tsp of Turmeric powder, ¼ tsp of Red Chilli powder and mix well.
6 Now pour the cooked Dal into the pan, 1 ½ cup of Water and 1 tsp of Salt and mix well.
7 Add 1 tsp of Butter, mix and simmer on low flame for 5 min.
8 Cover the lid and simmer on low flame for 5 min.
9 Garnish with freshly chopped Coriander leaves and serve with Rajasthani Baati or Rice.
