|Pigeon Dal / Toor / Tuvar||½ cup|
|Split Chickpeas / Chana Dal||¼ cup|
|Yellow Moong Dal||¼ cup|
|Water||2 cup (Dal : Water ratio 1:2)|
|Chopped Tomatoes||½ cup|
|Mustard Seeds / Rai||½ tsp|
|Cumin Seeds / Jeera||½ tsp|
|Chopped Green Chillies||2 tsp|
|Curry Leaves||2 tsp|
|Asafetida / Hing||1/3 tsp|
|Grated Ginger||1 tsp|
|Turmeric Powder / Haldi||½ tsp|
|Red Chilli Powder / Lal mirchi||¼ tsp|
|Coriander Leaves for garnishing||as required|
|#||Cooking Rajasthani Dal Recipe | Step by Step|
|1||In a mixing bowl, take ½ cup of Toor Dal, ¼ cup of Chana Dal, ¼ cup of yellow Moong Dal and wash with Water for 2 to 3 times.|
|2||Then in pressure cooker add the washed Dal, 2 cups of Water and allow it to cook on medium flame for seven Whistles.|
|3||Once the Dal is cooked, allow it to cool down, add ½ cup of Water, whisk the Dal well and keep aside.|
|4||In a heating pan, add 8 tsp of Oil, ½ tsp of Mustard Seeds (Rai), ½ tsp of Cumin Seeds (Jeera), 2 tsp of chopped Green Chillies, few Curry leaves, 1/3 tsp of Hing, 1 tsp of grated Ginger, ½ cup of chopped Tomatoes and sauté for a minute.|
|5||Then add ½ tsp of Turmeric powder, ¼ tsp of Red Chilli powder and mix well.|
|6||Now pour the cooked Dal into the pan, 1 ½ cup of Water and 1 tsp of Salt and mix well.|
|7||Add 1 tsp of Butter, mix and simmer on low flame for 5 min.|
|8||Cover the lid and simmer on low flame for 5 min.|
|9||Garnish with freshly chopped Coriander leaves and serve with Rajasthani Baati or Rice.|
