Chopped Walnuts / Akhrot | 1 cup |
Milk | 1 cup |
Khoya / Mawa | ¼ cup |
Sugar | ¼ cup |
Clarified Butter / Desi Ghee | 2 tsp |
Cardamom Powder / Elaichi Powder | ¼ tsp |
Saffron / Kesar for Garnishing | as required |

1 | In a cooking pan, add 2 tsp of Ghee and allow it to heat. |
2 | To that add 1 cup of finely chopped seedless Dates (Khajur) and stir for 2 to 3 Mins. |
3 | Then add 1 cup of Milk and stir continuously until the Milk is reduced down (approx. 5 Mins). |
4 | Furthermore, add 1 cup of roughly chopped Walnuts and give a nice mix for 2 Mins. |
5 | Then add ¼ cup of Mawa (Khoya), ¼ cup of Sugar, ¼ tsp of Cardamom (Elaichi) powder and mix well. |
6 | Cover the lid and cook on low flame for 2 Min. |
7 | Dates & Walnut Halwa is ready to serve hot and garnish with Kesar. |
