Ingredients Quantity
Chickpeas / Kabuli Chana ¾ cup
Onion Paste ½ cup
Tomato Paste ½ cup
Water 1 ½ cup
Dip Tea Bag 1
Salt ¼ + ½ tsp
Garam Masala ¼ tsp
Oil 5 tsp
Mustard Seeds / Rai ¼ tsp
Cumin Seeds /Jeera ¼ tsp
Asafetida / Hing ¼ tsp
Ginger Paste 1 tsp
Garlic Paste 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirchi ½ + ¼ tsp
Turmeric Powder / Haldi ¼ + ¼ tsp
Chana Masala 1 + ¼ tsp
Tamarind Chutney / Imli 3 tsp

# Cooking Chana Masala | Step by Step
1 In a small mixing bowl, take ¾ cup of Chana (Chickpeas), to that add 1 ½ cup of Water and soak overnight.
2 Then in a pressure cooker, add the soaked Chana along with Water, 1 Dip Tea bag, ¼ tsp of Salt, ¼ tsp of Garam Masala and cook on low flame until 3 to 4 whistles.
3 After the whistles, remove the Tea bag and keep aside.
4 In a heating pan add 5 tablespoon of Oil and allow to heat.
5 Then add ¼ tsp of Mustard seeds, ¼ tsp of Cumin Seeds, ¼ tsp of Hing, ½ cup of Onion paste and sauté for few min or until color changes.
6 Then add 1 tsp of Ginger paste and 1 tsp of Garlic paste and mix well.
7 Then add ½ tsp of Red Chilli Powder, ¼ tsp of Haldi Powder, 1 tsp of Chana (Chole) Masala and mix well.
8 Add ½ cup of Tomato paste and stir until Oil separates from the mixture.
9 Then add boiled Chana and keep the boiled Water aside.
10 At this stage, again add ¼ tsp of Chana Masala, ¼ tsp of Red Chilli Powder, ¼ tsp of Haldi Powder, ½ tsp of Salt, 3 tsp of Tamarind paste (Chutney) and mix well.
11 Add 1 cup of boiled Water and cover with the lid and cook on low flame for 7 to 8 Mins.
12 Serve with Bhatura, Chapati, or Jeera Rice.

Useful Tips
– Dip tea bag can also be made at home also by taking Tea in one small bag and seal it.
